FRIENDS
Stop for a moment and put some of the people in your life into four categories.
1. Acquaintances, people you have been introduced to but do not know much about.
2. Pre-Friends, people you have met and know well enough to tell someone else about.
3. Friends, people you know well and see on a regular basis, you enjoy their company and they yours.
4. Intimate Friendships, those few people who you know extremely well and trust, they are the ones you can tell your deepest secrets.
I have found that many only have categories 1&3. Quite often Acquaintances never get turned into friends and few have a pre-friend category in their life. Key to growth and development in our lives and the lives of others is the system of friendship.
Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends. 14 You are my friends if you do what I command. 15 I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know his master’s business. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. (JN 15: 13-15)
